Keyla received a wheel chair from us 2 years a go, now she needs a pair of tires. She has been asking almost every bicycle shop in Playa del Carmen but she cannot can’t find a new set of tires. She came here asking for help.

KAREN VINCENT GIVES DENTAL EDUCATION AT NEARBY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL:

“I have been going to Playa Del Carmen since 1988. It wasn’t until 2001 that I read about Lavonna and Angel Notion. Since then I have volunteered through Angel Notion many times throughout the years. In the past I have placed dental sealants and fluoride varnish on children’s teeth , and given dental hygiene education to children and parents along with toothbrushes and fluoride treatments.
Most recently I went to a local elementary school near Angel Notion. I was invited by the principal to give education and toothbrushes to 4 classrooms of 6-8 year olds.
I try to educate students on how to brush their teeth properly, what foods are healthy for their bodies and teeth, and letting them know that Angel Notion has a Dentist that can look at their teeth, especially if they are having a toothache.
I am pleased to see the snack carts full of candy and sticky carbohydrates are no longer on school property during lunch times. I would love to see all schools have a water fountain in the future!”

Queremos darles las gracias por todo el apoyo brindado durante la Navidad y el Sorteo de Año Nuevo. Con su ayuda hemos podido dar miles de juguetes en la víspera de Navidad a todos los niños con la ayuda de voluntarios de todo el mundo. Fue otra maravillosa oportunidad de dar y sorprender a los niños en Playa del Carmen. ¡Gracias!

Como muchos de usteds saben, la Rifa de la Eco Sport 2011 planeada para el 6 de enero, se pospuso al no tener el permiso exacto para realizar el sorteo así como por no tener la cantidad necesaria de boletos vendidos para alcanzar nuestras metas. El permiso original fue otorgado por la Ciudad de Playa del Carmen. Este ha sido el procedimiento normal de los últimos 12 años; pero fuimos notificados de que era necesario obtener un permiso federal para celebrar la Rifa.

Es por esto que la fecha del sorteo se pospuso y tuvimos que comenzar el proceso de solicitud correspondiente a la Secretaría de Gobernación de la Ciudad de México. El trámite es tardado y una vez que se reúna todo lo necesario para el trámite del permiso, tendremos que esperar 10 días hábiles para obtener una respuesta.

Una vez que tengamos el permiso correspondiente, estableceremos una nueva fecha para el sorteo; volveremos a imprimir los boletos con el número del permiso federal; les haremos llegar el nuevo boleto; venderemos los boletos restantes y alguien se irá con una Eco Sport 2011 nuevecita a su casa.

Angelito Ramírez habrá obtenido la cirugía para salvar su vida y Angel Notion podrá tener un transporte nuevo para nuestros equipos médicos y voluntarios.

We want to thank you for all your support during Christmas and the Raffle over the New Year! With your help we were able to give thousands of toys on Christmas Eve with the help of volunteers from around the world. It was another wonderful opportunity to bless children in Playa del Carmen. As many of you know, the 2011 Eco Sport Raffle, originally scheduled for January 6, was postponed. This was due to not having the correct permit for the draw. The original raffle permit was granted by the City of Playa del Carmen. This was the normal procedure in the last 12 years, but we were later notified of the need to obtain a federal raffle permit.

We have begun the application process at the Secretary of Federation in Mexico City. The process is slow and once we gather all necessary for processing the permit, we will have to wait 10 days for a response.

Here is the plan: Once we have the permit, we will establish a new date for the draw. We will print new tickets with the federal permit number, send new tickets to those who have already purchased tickets, and sell the remaining tickets. At the end of all of this, we will have the drawing, and a lucky winner will walk away with a brand new 2011 Eco Sport! Angel Ramirez will have completed his life saving surgery and Angel Notion will have a new Van to transport our medical teams and volunteers.
